Facilities

Olympic size Swimming Pool
Being a salt-water, Olympic-sized pool, Chinese Swimming Club’s pool is a well-known icon around Penang and beyond. Within our Club grounds, many sporting talents had been nurtured in this very pool since its conception. Swimmers such as Jeffery Ong climbed the ranks from first representing the Club to representing Malaysia in international sporting fronts.
Apart from being the ideal training facility, the vicinity of the Club has played host to a multitude of water sporting events over the years. Swimming meets, water polo competitions and life-saving events. More recently, CSC had been the venue of choice for Penang Urban Triathalon.
As for many of our patrons who enjoy a leisurely swim for fitness, they swear by the healing properties of the filtered salt water. Many had commented that it’s a joy to swim in this pool as the water does not sting the eyes.

Gymnasium
Chinese Swimming Club boasts a gymnasium that may not be that large but combined efforts had ensured the facility is comprehensively equipped to suit the different needs of our members. Friendly and ever helpful Gym Instructor, Yong, never hesitates to coach new users and offer advice to help optimize your work-out routines.
The Club’s gymnasium operates daily, with opening times being split to two sessions.

     Morning Sessions
Tuesdays to Saturdays   7:30am till 9:30am
     Sundays & Public Holidays  9:00am till 12:00pm

     Afternoon Sessions
     Daily     4:00pm till 10:00pm
     Sundays & Public Holidays  4:00pm till 9:00pm

As the Club progresses, there are plans for a new sea front gym. Patrons would then enjoy the luxury a sweat alongside the scenic coastlines of Tanjung Bungah. Adjacent to the future gym, there would be a squash court. The Club continuously strives to provide members with comprehensive sporting facilities, hoping that someday Chinese Swimming Club, Penang would be a diversified sporting complex.

Cafeteria
Dine alfresco by our pool side, swayed by the gentle sea breeze. Serving up delectable local treats at a reasonable price, CSC's cafeteria has gained a solid reputation amongst members and guests alike. Apart from the main restaurant, the cafeteria provides a small air-conditioned private function room that comfortably seats 50 pax. Star menu items include a one-of-a-kind Braised Pork Knuckle Hor Fun, Hainan Spring Roll, Golden Soft Shell Crabs and Inchi Kabin. Their Patong Curry Fish Head has had many patrons coming back again and again. In the late afternoons, you could find tables dotted with fragrant cups of local Kopi-O and refreshing Ice Kacang. A generous bowl of shaved ice is the perfect treat on a hot and humid day. The cafeteria serves up piping hot meals everyday from 12 noon till 9 at night. They close on every second and fourth Tuesday of the month.

Our cosy reading room has been a tranquil hideout for patrons. Take a breather whilst keeping abreast with daily headlines. Fresh newspapers in various mediums are delivered every morning. There are also a bounty of magazines for light reading. Equipped with Wi-Fi, the Reading Room is the ideal spot for members who wish to catch up with some work.

Expansion plans are in the works whereby this little room would be transformed into a full-fledged literary and audio-visual library. Patrons would be able to borrow books and DVDs to be enjoyed at home. With this, the Club also hopes to nurture a reading habit amongst our younger generation.

Meeting room
Located on the second floor, the meeting room has a capacity of 20 pax. The room is comprehensively equipped with conference equipment. Throughout the years, many of the Club’s decisive moments had been made in this very room.

Many children had utilized this hall whilst undergoing training for the Club’s swimming and water polo squads. Beautiful beach front
Penangnites could never be peeled away from our beach-loving ways for too long. Just down the back of the Club’s property is a beautiful stretch of soft sand. Come every evening, the surf would be dotted by our patrons, most avid surfers whilst others prefer to take a jog along the coastline. To ensure our members’ safety and comfort, the Club is diligent is keeping the beach clean. This makes our beach front an ideal spot for families to spend the weekend, either to enjoy some old fashioned quality time or to hold a barbeque under the shade.

Hoping to revive and instill a stronger beach culture, a beach-side café is definitely on the drawing boards. This café in future would serve up refreshments, as well as provide our members with a tranquil spot to catch up with friends and to unwind.
